Lyon’s Fête des Lumières is the world’s largest visual arts festival and takes place every year during December for four nights to celebrate Mary, mother of Jesus. This years event was held from 7 to 10 December.

The 2017 Festival of Lights covered fourty six installations, divided into six categories, all designed by lighting designers, visual artists, video artists, architects and graphic designers to highlight some of the most symbolic sites of the city of Lyon including La Place Bellecour, Saint-Jean Cathedral, La Place des Terreaux, the Fountain of the Jacobins and the Theatre of Fourvière.
