Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon and owner of The Washington Post has purchased a pair of mansions in Washington DC for US$23 million.
The two properties comprise a total of 2136 square meters and it has been reported that the Bezos family may use the property in conjunction with their existing residence in Washington state. Plans for renovation and refurbishment and to convert the two buildings to a single family home have been submitted to the neighbourhood historical commission.
The two buildings were used as part of a textile museum until 2013, when the museum moved to George Washington University's campus.
